Malini Na

Malini Nair is a talented Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattom artist who can perform movie dances in equal charm. She is also a well versed choreographer and a dance conductor with the ability of adapting dance forms enjoyable to the audience to which it is presented. Working as a computer professional and graduated as a civil engineer from College Of Engineering, Trivandrum, Kerala, Malini Nair always had a place in her heart for cherishing her passion for dance. She had shown her interest and curiosity in dance from the tender age of 3 when she first started learning dance under Kalamandalam Teacher Padma Sasikumar, Director of Natyalaya dance Academy at Thiruvananthapuram.She learnt Bharathanatyam, Mohiniyattom and folk dances under Padma Sasikumar for 12 years and then started to choreograph her own art forms and dances which she conducted in her college and outside. She also had a chance to learn kuchipudi for a short span under famous teachers like Dr Neena Prasad and Smt Vyjayanthi kashi.

Her art side had more recognition when she came to NJ after her marriage in 1999.With her interaction with the Indian community and kerala Associations Of Nj, She enjoyed exploring more in the field of dance, choregraphy, composition etc.She was able to provide some enchanting well set contributions to the Nj community at various occasions. She was the first Asianet Television News Anchor in 2003 when “Asianet USA”,a Malayalam TV channel first launched in USA.

Malini Nair started teaching few students as her part time hobby from 2003.She was getting enthusiasm when her students were displaying amazing talents and perfection.She trained them in movie dances, folk dances and classical items. The students and their parents were proud and thrilled seeing their awesome performances on stage.She performs frequently with her students for various small and big events in Nj.

With the increasing number of students, she felt that it is hi-time to set up a dance school to enforce the curriculum, discipline and yearly shows. She teaches her students discipline, concentration, focus, positive attitude, unity and above all the awareness about the Indian culture and traditions with her dance forms. She trains her students for full margam and also makes them capable to choreograph on their own. Her vision is that if the mind is determined, the body has no choice other than to yield and her aim is to create a younger generation to cherish the Indian culture and traditions in USA thus making their parents feel proud. Currently Malini. Nair lives in North.Brunswick, NJ with her husband and twin boys.
